Every time I feed people I get asked for a recipe. Do you have any idea how hard it is to explain to someone how to make the perfect crouton over the phone? Suffice it to say that it almost never ends well. I once tried to explain to some friends how to make one of my trusted pumpkin soup recipes. It was an utter disaster. They decided to take some liberties and swapped out the pumpkin for a yellow summer squash and then as they didn’t have any sour cream decided to substitute sweetened vanilla yogurt on top. Needless to say, the end result was completely inedible. This blog is my attempt to avoid that type of culinary catastrophe again.
Feeding your people
These are the recipes I use to feed the people I love. Under the “feeding your friends” category i’ll give you some tips and ideas about how to throw together a meal for the people you want to feed. What better way is there to tell the people in your life how special they are than feeding them a massively delicious meal?
My Recipes
I almost never actually use recipes. This makes it quite problematic when people ask me to explain how I made a particular dish. This is my attempt to semi-scientifically document what I’m cooking. And I’ve had some of my more….um, retentive friends (For lack of a better word) test the recipes. But that said, if you add a little more of something or a little less of something please don’t stress! And you absolutely have to season to your liking. But as the salt monster, I can tell you right now that if it doesn’t taste right it’s probably because it needs more salt.
